Make your Virtual Training session Engaging

The concept of virtual training has been making waves across organizations. It is a cloud based training methodology where the trainer and the trainees do not have to be physically present in the same space for the training to happen. Content is shared over an online platform and can be accessed by the trainees from anywhere in the world. Hence, the biggest concern regarding this method is – will the trainee be engaged enough in the session to actually learn something?

It’s easy to get distracted in a virtual training session, especially if the session itself has not be designed and executed in an engaging way. So, given below are some tips on how you can make your virtual training session more engaging, and thereby more effective!

Keep the session well paced: In this era of online platforms, the attention spans of people are gradually decreasing. Hence, in order to keep your virtual training session engaging, it is important to keep it well paced so that the audience does not get bored.

Have great content: This is a no brainer. Without great content your virtual training session is likely to fall flat, as your audience will end up focusing on distractions they find more interesting. Focus on having both informative as well as interesting content, so that you can keep the trainees involved and interested in the session.

Make it attractive: The virtual training session is going to be completely on screen. So, in order to keep your trainees in their seats, there has to be some visually attractive factor. If you’re using presentations, make sure to include a lot of interesting visuals, infographics and even graphs in order to convey the requisite information in a fun, engaging manner. Focus on having less text and more pictures, which will have your trainees instantly get the requisite information without having to go through drab texts.

Have an interactive trainer: In the end, a lot depends on the trainer who’d be conducting the session. The trainer himself/herself has to be an excellent speaker who can instantly engage an audience with their words. The session must be brought to life, with the trainer’s own personality, content plans and speaking skills.

By following the above ways, you can make your organization’s virtual training session a fun and engaging one!
